A History of Temple Square
This month I am starting work on a new documentary for PBS Station KUED7 on historic Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up in Utah, Temple Square has always been a special place and it is rich with history. Since 1847, Temple Square has been the heart of Salt Lake City, and home to unique architectural structures including the gothic inspired Salt Lake Temple and domed Tabernacle. The persons who envisioned, built and later maintained these buildings and the city block they rest on will be the subject of the hour long documentary. They include everything from to architects to organists and gardeners to governors.
Here are a few photos of Temple Square over the years. As production on the film moves along, I’ll send updates with more photos, interviews and footage.
